Can we start the count-down soon?! Maybe!

Good Sunday morning! I hope it’s lovely where you are today! We are chilly in the morning, just like any average Fall day, but will be approaching 90 by afternoon! That’s a bit much for late October!

We had some encouraging news very early this morning thanks to a post in VRBO (Vacation Rental by Owner)…yesterday, I inquired on availability for a month long rental in mid-January and it seems it is! I heard from the owner via email but she is out of pocket until later today. Fingers crossed…we may have a roof over our heads upon arrival on Kauai! This is huge! Once we are there, surely within a month, we can find a long-term rental easier in person rather than faceless emails. If this becomes a done deal, then we can proceed with airfare arrangements and shipment of our car! Then a REAL count-down to Kauai can begin!

I have the last of the cross-stitch stash posted for sale here on Facebook and sold some more late yesterday! Those packages of creative necessities will be stamped and ready to go out in tomorrow’s mail!

The contents in the storage spare bedroom is beginning to dwindle and I can see more of the floor!

My side has 3 plastic containers & 6 flat ArtBin satchels (at least!) removed! And that brown box in front is quilt stuff sold and ready to ship! Whoohoo!

Daughter’s side has dwindled big time! I can get to the wall!

So I grabbed some pieces of flannel and quilt batting, tacked them to the wall and started laying out the batik blocks continued at the mini-retreat from last week! Isn’t it scrappy, happy!?! The pattern is “Split Personality” by Mabeth Oxenreider found in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, February, 2006.

With space being freed up, I think I might even start sewing some of these blocks into rows and get ‘r done!! Another scrap project nearing the finish line! Remember this post from way back in January about 2014 scrap busting goal…I am running out of year so I have to kick this into higher gear!

Have a great day!

Hi Linda! The pattern is “Split Personality” by Mabeth Oxenrieider published in APQ February 2006 magazine. It is a super easy 4-patch with solid squares and great for using up lots of scraps or controlled with only blue 4-patches like the sample. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
