A Wedding Blesses Our Family

Bless me bloggers, for I have sinned. It has been 3 weeks since my last blog! At one moment, it seems like those days went by in a blur but I remember them as long and stressful. Thankfully, there were at least a couple of days of sunshine after Winter storm Sparta! Don’t you hate it when that groundhog predicts 6 more weeks of winter…and gets it right?!?

Our daughter’s wedding went splendidly on March 7! The snowstorm less than a week before the wedding caused some tense moments for Chris’ family, who traveled from Maryland, but they all arrived safely. Here is the happy couple after the deal was sealed! What a blessing!

Notice Chris’ crisp white vest and bow-tie? Well, that one got delivered to the chapel about an hour before the ceremony! The other one picked up the day before? It was mint green…NOT what was requested!

There were only a couple of other tiny bumps before the ceremony but it ended just like it was supposed to!

Thumbs up…she’s all yours now, Chris!!

If you read this post, you recall there was more big news coming for us in 2015. Not only are we moving to Kauai in a few weeks (yes! really!!) Chris and Courtney will begin there life together at his new overseas assignment in a few months. He is being stationed at Kadena Air Force Base…that would be in Okinawa, Japan!!

Look at the beautiful, sunny island they will be enjoying! Oh, and it’s only a mere 4,500 miles from Kauai!! I will figure the logistics of visiting them on another day!

As for our move, we finally got through the final loan approval process (I scanned more documents in one day than I ever did when I worked full time!!) and got the good news along with the appraisal on March 20! That was the longest week…we truly believed our dream might be slipping away…again!! We even started scouting out places in Florida to consider. We were NOT going to spend another land-locked summer in Oklahoma!!

Our closing has been pushed back to March 31. We are pretty sure it will happen but, honestly, I am still not packing stuff just yet!

I finished another quilt top to keep my mind and hands busy. I’ll post it tomorrow and try to get back in the swing of keeping things updated. The next few weeks will be busy and the ever-present checklists will have to be dealt with accordingly.

Stay tuned!!!
