Constant Checklists

Aloha and good morning from Kauai! It’s Super Bowl Sunday so hopefully you are able to have some quality sewing/quilting/creating time today while the football fans in your life are watching the game!

If you’ve followed our adventures for a while now, you know how I love checklists. I don’t know any other way to keep track of all the little (and big) stuff we do! Never mind that I will write it down and forget to take the list…some times! (Visualize Mr. G shaking his head! LOL)

Last week was a whirlwind of activity for us working on our latest checklist! Mr. G and I needed to upgrade our cell phones…well, he NEEDED to upgrade his phone because he placed a magnetized business card holder on top of his phone (for a couple of days!) and it messed it up big time! Mine was just getting slow and limited in memory (hmmm…sounds so human…scary! Stop snickering!) Off to Costco we went for the upgrades on Monday! Happily, we each received $250 in rebates! Nice!

On Tuesday, Mr. G bought a new truck! When you visit Kauai, you will notice the most popular truck on island is the Toyota Tacoma. It will be used a lot as he keeps clearing the rim and maintains the beauties in our yard! We are really starting to feel kamaaina now!

We haven’t been able to put two vehicles in our garage for a L-O-N-G time! Those GMC Yukon XL’s we’d had for about 10 years just never would fit! We also made a stop at Wisteria Lane, a flooring showroom…and we picked out three choices in bamboo flooring!

Wednesday, while we were waiting for the new truck to be detailed and gassed up, of course, the other car had a pesky warning light to be addressed at the service department…low tire pressure. Sure enough, a nail had decided to hitch a ride and a slow leak had to be repaired. Conveniently, right across the street from the service center is the Pacific Tile showroom. While we wait, let’s go tile shopping!…and we came home with a sample to see if we like it with our choice of bamboo sample. Oh, this will be so much nicer than the old, stained, faded, and otherwise yucky carpet!

Now it’s already Thursday and this scrappy jewel is ready for the binding! I’m loving these swirls!!

Friday was a “stop and get the house ready for dinner guests” day…grocery shopping, Swiffer moments and other Domestic Diva duties. We had a lovely Tex-Mex dinner with new friends…Dan’s home-made salsa was awesome!

I mentioned in this post about some other big things in the works. I have a new sewing machine with a wonderful Koala sewing chair and on Saturday we picked up the heavy box with the TailorMade Eclipse sewing cabinet! *happydancing*

Yea, that’s a lovely natural light filled window I will enjoy! I also received three boxes from Oklahoma (thanks Ryan!) with some of my sewing treasures – quilt tops, notions, fabric and such! I have missed these!

Whew! I think that’s enough for a week, right?! But wait…there’s more…and it’s a B-I-G deal! Check back and I’ll give you all those details…saving the best for last!

I’ll have lots more *happydancing* to share!!

Go_____________!! (Fill in with your favorite Super Bowl team or brand of sewing machine!)
